Welcome to Affine Financial Services.

Affine Financial Services was founded in 2008 in response to the collapse of confidence in financial services.  My mission is to provide top-quality financial advice to individuals and families.  I take my fiduciary responsibilities seriously and strive to provide excellent service at a reasonable price.

I work with clients on a range of financial planning issues.  Services offered include:

• Preparing income tax returns for individuals and responding to inquiries made by the IRS.  Your tax return is a window into your financial state.  By preparing your return, or reviewing a return prepared elsewhere, I can advise you how to improve your overall financial situation.
• Advising budding entrepreneurs how to best establish and organize new ventures to protect personal assets while minimizing cost and complexity.
• Guiding new workers through the complexities of the American financial system.  I work with scientists, engineers, and other professionals who have moved to the United States and help explain how to navigate the American system of taxes, insurance, and investments.
• Advising LGBT individuals and families on financial planning issues.  As more states recognize same-sex marriages, it can be challenging to keep up on how to best plan and protect yourself and your family.

I also write short articles on financial planning that I post here at Affine and also at Queercents.  My work with the LGBT community was noticed by Melissa Korn, a writer for the Wall Street Journal, who interviewed me for an article on the financial implications of same-sex marriage.  I’ve also been quoted recently in the Advocate.

My investment advice centers around assessing your investment objectives, your tolerance to risk, and recommendations for diversification and cost minimization.

I offer services on a fee-only basis.  I do not receive any compensation in the form of commissions.  The initial consultation is always free.
